The weather has sure made it challenging to finish and/or continue our scheduled curriculum. The speedstacking unit came to an end with a fun filled 2 day station event. The students were able to time themselves for all 3 skills. The 3-3-3, the 3-6-3 and the Full Cycle. They also used the mini cups, participated in relaysand created some amazing free stacking formations. Cedar, Alders and Clarkia will be working on their own personal fitness and a few unique games that require reaction time, agility, the skill of catching, competitiveness, eye hand coordination and footwork. Ask them to show you how to play Lob Ball. A game that only takes 2 people and a tennis ball. It can be played anywhere that you can bounce a tennis ball and have a space about 12 X 12.
The Huckleberries and Trillium will be enjoying a parachute unit this month. This is usually a favorite of all students. They will be working on large teamwork, listening skills, arm strength, and cooperation.

A word of Thanks and Gratefulness I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank this wonderful community of parents and children. I have taught in many schools, including, high schools, middle schools, elementary schools, and a homeschool charter school. Every school has it’s own flavor. Even though I have felt a great rapport with most of my students throughout the years I have not always feIt connected and supported like I do here at MRA. It is so comforting to feel appreciated, cared for, and respected. I want to truly thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for giving me the opportunity to work with your amazingly talented and caring children. They are sincere, positive contributing community members, hard workers, and willing learners. I just hope that I can give them a little of what they give me everyday! Best wishes for health and happiness in the New Year. Sincerely, Danielle Reeber All grades are finishing up one of my favorite units. We will have a culminating event this Thur. and Friday. The students will travel to 6 stations where they will be challenged to speed stack as fast as they can, stack blindfolded, stack using only their left or right hand, and stack as a team. It has been fun incorporating stacking into fitness as the students do lunges, push ups, planks, etc. while trying to stack. Thanks to those that have purchased timers and/or cups. It has been a great fundraiser for the P.E. program. $200 has been raised so far. There are still some cups left and one more mat and timer. I will be selling these through the next 2 weeks. Just stop by my office in the gym or email me and I will set them aside for you. [email protected] Orange Red Green Blue Purple One Pink Leopard What a joy to see all of the students fully engaged! I love teaching speed stacking because all of the students are challenged. It is an individual skill that they can work on no matter their level. This week they have worked on relays and team cooperation, core strength and the patterns of speed stacking. The Cedars did a great job teaching the Trillium one on one.
Fund Raiser for P.E. equipment continues through Dec. Speed Stack Set $20 Mat/Timer and bag $20 $5 of each sale stays at MRA!

ownWhat a great way to end our week. It was exciting to see all of the students engaged in such a wonderful experience. The Alders and Cedars have all completed the aerobic capacity test which is called the Pacer. I am pleased to announce that 85% of our students are in the national healthy fitness zone. All students will be working to improve their own individual fitness this school year and the community of MRA will continue to progress toward 100%, |

This is my 6th year here at MRA. Prior to MRA I have taught in Canby, Oregon City Maple Valley, Spokane and Auburn, WA. I am a graduate of Washington State University with a K-12 P.E. major and a Health minor. I currently live in Wilsonville with my husband of 23 years, my three 17 year olds and my dog, Charlie. In my spare time I love hiking, camping, spending time reading a book on a sunny warm beach and scrapbooking.
